The Opportunity

A fabulous opportunity for an Experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team, you will be responsible for performing control and instrumentation systems investigations, design, programming, configuration, documentation, testing and commissioning for industrial, utility and government clients, at a high standard of professional expertise, requiring minimal technical supervision.

The position is based primarily in a professional office environment in Gladstone, Qld. However, the employee will be required to attend client sites in both commercial and industrial environments.

About You

  • Standard Queensland Open-class Motor Vehicle License
  • A minimum of (5-10) years relevant Control Systems engineering experience
  • A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognised Australian institution
  • Functional Safety Engineer certification in Safety Instrumented Systems or Certification as a Machinery Safety Expert will be highly regarded
  • Proven design capability in an industrial environment
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes
  • Demonstrated project management capability
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Technical/practical skills in most of the areas of Control Strategy design & Control systems
  • Ability to read technical documentation, write and review well-structured technical reports
  • Ability to effectively and proficiently respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, customers and internal staff
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists
  • Utilise all available research methods and resources available for technical support
  • Travel away from home for up to two weeks at a time will be expected
