The Opportunity

A fabulous opportunity for an Experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a dynamic team. You will effectively plan, implement and review technical services to ensure that all services are performed in compliance with the company’s requirements and are completed in a professional, accurate and timely manner.

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Reviewing and analysing customer requests, including Scope of Works, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility of the request
  •  Have the technical ability to accurately engineer and raise specialised job cards promptly!
  • Accurately and timely provision of relevant drawings, inspection documents and work procedures to achieve production targets
  • Interpret drawings and information provided by the customer, create inspection and QA documents, work methods and procedures, and ITP as per Managed Systems
  • Facilitate engineering and workshop drawings production that are user-friendly, accurate, and as per relevant standards
  • Preparing quotations and estimates for the company’s workshop in a professional, accurate and timely manner
  • A quick learner to understand and use the company’s computer systems and sound use of Microsoft Office products
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards and Berg Engineering, Gladstone policies and work procedures
  • Maintaining optimum communication with staff, suppliers, and customers
  • Planning and prioritising work in the workshop to meet delivery dates committed to the customer
  • Liaising with the customer, getting feedback on quotes, and measuring the win/loss and the quote competitiveness within the current market
  • Attending the team meetings each week or as required
  • Complying with Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Participating in the continual improvement of the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems by giving feedback on the organisation

Key Requirements

Please note applicants desired to have:

  • Diploma of Engineering
  • Trade Qualification – Mechanical (Fitter & Turner or Welding)
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential project risks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for asset refurbishment
  • Understanding of the latest technologies, materials, and methods used in refurbishment projects
