The Opportunity

The primary objective of the role is to lead, plan, and execute projects end-to-end, focusing on time delivery, quality, budget, and client satisfaction. The project manager is the cornerstone for internal coordination and external relationships, committed to identifying risks, implementing mitigation plans, and contributing to the company’s growth and reputation in the industry.

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Project Management is essential
  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant field is highly regarded
  • Minimum of 5 Years for Project Engineer of relevant professional experience in project management
  • At least 2 years for Project Engineer spent in leading roles, overseeing projects in the Water & Sewerage and/or Heavy Industry sectors
  • Professional certifications like PMP, CAPM, or an equivalent are a strong plus
  • Preferably a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Project for project scheduling and Excel for financial modelling
  • Strong working knowledge of PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile Project Management methodologies
  • Familiarity with CAD software for the purpose of reviewing engineering drawings
  • An understanding of procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence to manage team dynamics and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate, guide, and manage large, diverse teams
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities to effectively handle both internal team disputes and client-facing issues
  • Capability to manage high-stress situations and decision-making under pressure
  • Work experience with the Council is preferable
